Obituary of George Eugene (Gene) SMITH

SMITH – George Eugene (Gene): Passed away peacefully on Friday July 20, 2018 after 84 years of living, loving, working, fishing and hunting. Son of the Late Orley and Grace Smith. Beloved husband of Jackie (Gareau), Loving father of Lori Ryan (Scott), Kathy Kingsley (Tracy), Scott Brown (Dale), Christine Mathews (Joe) and Raymond Brown. He was an incredible Papa and “BIG” Papa to his many grandchildren. Gene will be fondly remembered by his many siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews. Friends were plentiful, always eager to hear one of his tales. Gene never truly retired and spent many years working alongside his best friend and neighbour Stan Szatrowski keeping a watchful eye over the pumpkin patch from those dreaded deer. Gene will be missed by many many people. In keeping with Gene’s wishing cremation has taken place. There will be a private interment of his cremains.
