Carl Thompson

Obituary of Carl Oliver Lawrence Thompson

THOMPSON—Carl Oliver Lawrence(1940-2018): It is with great sadness that the family announces the departure of Carl on December 23rd, 2018, after facing a No-Win Battle.   Carl will be missed by his beloved wife Donna (Boyle), his dear children Jason (Michelle) and Heidi (Brad) Rice, his grandchildren Brady Rice and Jacob Thompson, his sisters Valerie Moore and Maxine (Peter) Byerlay, as well as his family and friends who knew him as “Pops”.  Carl’s life’s work was in the automotive trades.  He started at his parents’ garage (Lawrence & Nellie) as a young man after being trained in English cars in England during the sixties.  When he no longer wrenched, he went into parts & service.  His passion was the Drum Corp. from the Royal Blues and finishing with the United Alumni Drum Corp of Simcoe until he could no longer march, however the music went on in our house.  If there is a drum corp. in heaven he’ll surely be involved.  March on dear Carl and beat your drum to a different tune.  “May you never walk alone.”  Cremation has taken place and at Carl’s request there will be no visitation.  A celebration of life to follow in the New Year.  SOUTH COAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION ALTERNATIVES INC. 71 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe in care of arrangements.   Those wishing to make a donation in Carl’s memory are asked to consider Waterford & District Food Cupboard PO BOX 1231, Waterford, ON, N0E 1Y0.  www.southcoastfuneralservice.com
