Obituary of Joan Marlene Welsh
WELSH – Joan Marlene: Passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her family on Friday, April 12, 2019 in her 83rd year. Daughter of the Late Harold and Amy Taylor. Much beloved wife for over 60 years of Leo Welsh. Loving mother of Catherine Sorensen (Eric), Jennifer Taylor (John), Peter Welsh (faithful son and caregiver), Laura Bruce (Scot). Cherished grandmother of Christine Sorensen, Chris Sorensen (Kathleen), Sarah Chung (Long), Caleb Sorensen, Adel MacKay and great grandmother of Kataliya, Josef, Lachlan, Penelope and Emmanuelle. Extended family Neil MacKay. Also surviving is her sister Jean Holden, brother Dick Taylor, Sisters-in-law Doreen Oates and Bev Rutherford, brothers-in-law Alan Welsh, Terry Welsh, numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful loving cat Curly, always at her side until the end. Joan was predeceased by Harry, Jack and Bob. Thank you to the many friends and neighbours in Port Ryerse and to her friends at Max Convience store on Colbourne St., Simcoe always being so kind. Thank you to CCAC and CBI home health. Joan would lift a persons spirits daily by saying “Well aren’t you beautiful” Joan, herself was kind, loving and beautiful inside and out. She will be dearly missed by many. A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79 in Simcoe on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 2 – 4 p.m. SOUTH COAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION ALTERNATIVES, 71 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe in care of arrangements.
