Obituary of Elaine Shirley Carter

CARTER: Elaine Shirley -- It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elaine Shirley Carter (Shore) on June 14, 2019 at the age of 80.  Her life will forever be cherished by her two daughters Susan and Wendy (Mark).  She will be remembered by her two grandchildren Nicole (Kyle) and Billy (Krista) and her four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Hunter, Lathan, and Oliver.  She was predeceased by her husband Ellis (Al) Carter; her parents Jack and Lila Shore;  and her siblings Helen, Doreen, Ronald, and Carol.  Elaine was born in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia where she grew up with nine siblings.  She married Al in 1959.  They moved to Bermuda in 1962 and returned to Nova Scotia in 1976 residing in Bedford and Barney’s River.  Four years ago, she moved to Cayuga, Ontario to be close to her daughters.   Her Kindness, compassion, and dedication to help people showed her generous personality.  Elaine was loved by many.  She volunteered at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, in Bermuda for many years and was an active Lioness in the Bermuda Lion’s Club.  According to Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  The family invites friends to come celebrate her life on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 159, 11 Talbot St E, Cayuga from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Interment will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. John's Anglican Church, 1105 Church St., Port Williams, NS.  SOUTH COAST FUNERAL & CREMATION ALTERNATIVES INC, 71 Norfolk St. N, Simcoe, in care of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 159, Cayuga.  Online condolences at www.southcoastfuneralservice.com
