Obituary of Clarke Helen Eileen BEETON

BEETON (Clarke) – Helen Eileen: Passed away peacefully with her family at her side at The Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in her 86th year. Loving mother of Siobhan Beeton, Michael (Chris), Kevin (Cindy) and was predeceased by sons Bernie and Tom. Cherished grandmother of Ashley Butler (Jason), Jessica Dertinger (Kyle), Caley Teall (Jeff) and great-grandmother of William, Benjamin, Claire, Austin and Tyler. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews with extended family in Canada and the U.K. Born in Listowel, Ontario. Helen began her early career working at the C.I.B.C. bank until transferring to London, Ontario. In 1960 she moved to Simcoe, Ontario to raise her family working at Good Humor – Breyers until her retirement. She loved to travel and after discovering her ancestral roots she developed a passion for Scotland where she visited over 5 times. She also enjoyed visiting the Casinos, playing slots into the wee hours. Often having a book by her side, she was an avid history buff, friends marveled at her ability to recall long past events, dates, etc. Having a great love for animals, her household was never without a pet. The neighborhood squirrels, birds, feral cats and occasional skunks and possums were always fed. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a gathering on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1 – 3 p.m. at THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 79, 200 West St., Simcoe.
