We are heartbroken to hear of Grandpa's passing. He will live on in my memory as a wild inventor, builder of boats, maker of candy and the Grandpa who always had a fun watch or new gizmo to share. I remember fondly visiting the cottage and being handed a small bowl of salted nuts, playing with his newest toys, and enjoying some home made spirits (in my adult years).
I think it was Grandpa's influence that inspired me to love telescopes and microscopes, playing in the lake, and the warmth of a good fire. In this difficult time, our prayers are with Grandma, my Dad and the rest of the family.
Grandpa was one of the most interesting men I have ever met and it is truly a loss that my kids will only know him by the stories we tell.
May Grandpa find peace in the arms of Jesus. I imagine there is a lake in heaven that Grandpa is exploring it in some unique way be it with a telescope, snorkel gear or on a boat of his own design.
